The WCA season has been shortened by 3 races. This is a huge disappointment for many of who look forward to good races in the middle of the summer. The three races that have been cancelled include: July 3rd – Whitewater Road Race; July 4th – Whitewater Time Trial; and the August 14th – Wheel & Sprocket Criterium. Due to these three cancellations there are only two races left to the WCA racing season. Remaining races include the July 11th – Chiropractic Time Trial and the August 21st – Attitude Sports Criterium.
So the direct impact laid out because of the cancellation not only shortens the season but wraps up the points race in a number of categories. In Cat 3’s, it’s been confirmed that I will win because of the 54 point lead with only 45 points remaining to be won in the last two races. In Cat 4’s, Travis Miller of the Madison-based Brazen Dropouts team took the 2010 season title by currently having the series wrapped up by 58 points. Other categories’ point races are still up in the air and will be decided by the 2 remaining races. Remember, the TT counts as double points!
